Car Cleaning Tips for a Spring Clean Automobile.

Spring is quickly approaching and you may be gearing up to do some spring cleaning. Include your car, inside and out, on your cleaning list since the winter months may have done some damage. Driving through snow and cold temperatures can take a toll on the appearance of your car. Your car will look nicer and run better if you follow these simple tips for cleaning your car.

Inside the Car

Start with the easy part first: the inside of your car. Take a trash bag out to your car and throw away any trash and unwanted items that may have been left behind. Once your car is clear, take out the mats and wash them since they most likely took a beating over the winter. Finally, vacuum on and under the seats and wipe down your dashboard for a nice, new look. This all shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes.

Outside the Car

Of course, you’ll want to get the outside of your car washed. But, more importantly, wash the underside thoroughly. Most standard washes don’t cover the underside of your car, so it has probably been neglected. Salt, sand and mud can cause serious corrosion problems if not cleaned.

Other Areas

Your windshield wipers may have done some work over the winter, and could be worn down. If you notice any streaking or loose wiper blades, it is a good idea to replace them. Also, check your tire tread and make sure they are properly inflated. Cold weather can cause your tires to be underinflated and your wipers to lose efficiency.

Keep it Clean

A clean car is one less thing to worry about. Take the time to keep everything in working order and you will be happy. There’s no better time than now to clean!
